LUNAA Journeys is shaping a new standard for astro-tourism in the Caribbean.
Astro-tourism is a fast-growing niche in the global travel industry, driven by increasing interest in immersive, educational and nature-based experiences. The Caribbean’s dark skies, stunning natural settings, and rich cultural heritage uniquely positions it to become a world-class destination for stargazing.
As the home of the region’s first stargazing facilitator training programme, LUNAA is establishing the foundation for refined, experience-led astronomy offerings designed for the modern traveller.
Inaugural Training Cohort
LUNAA Journeys' mission is two-fold: to diversify the Caribbean’s tourism offering by addressing the growing demand for stargazing experiences while cultivating a population with an appreciation for outer space and the positive impact it can have on the region’s sustainable development.

There’s no better way to fulfill this mission than empowering our people to explore the skies that lie above our islands. That’s why we proudly introduced our Stargazing Training Programme in Summer 2025, the first of its kind in the Caribbean, supported by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
This training programme was designed to empower locals with the skills needed to develop and host stargazing experiences and create new, sustainable revenue for themselves and businesses in the region.​

The inaugural cohort represents the first generation of trained stargazing facilitators in Saint Lucia. Each participant completed an immersive programme combining astronomy knowledge with hands-on telescope use and guest experience training, preparing them to deliver thoughtfully curated stargazing sessions.
Since completing the programme, facilitators have begun delivering experiences across the island, introducing a new category of evening offering within the tourism landscape while expanding access to the night sky.

This work is defining a model that can be introduced across the Caribbean, positioning the region as a destination for distinctive, high-quality astronomy experiences.​​
